In view of the recent incidents relating to the electronic Direct Debit Authorization (eDDA) top-up service via Faster Payment System (FPS), TNG has reviewed internally revealing no users had been affected or any unauthorized transaction.
To protect the interests of TNG customers and other stakeholders, TNG is required to comply with a set of regulations and guidelines of the HKMA for account registration and transaction verification. All functions of TNG Wallet, including the FPS-related functions, are reliable and secure.
Pursuant to the request of the HKMA, the eDDA (in-app top-up) of TNG Wallet has been suspended. However, the service of person-to-person transfer and person-to-merchant via FPS transfer is not affected.
Customers can still top-up their wallets real-time by FPS from banks or other channels such as 7-Eleven, Circle-K, JetCo ATM, Internet Banking.
Account security and protection of customers’ interests have always been our top priority. The FPS incidents are unrelated to our system security, however, we will still review the relevant procedures to reduce the risk of personal data theft.
